Rainstorm 2010

Last week’s crazy rainstorm knocked out power here at Lynch. We weren’t able to get a lot done at the office without power or heat, but we did manage to get our muffins from Skev! Despite the fallen trees and blocked access road, Skev showed up to deliver the goods. He and Bruce ended up at Gail’s place in Ryal Side for brunch. I got my gingerbread muffin on Monday and it was still delicious.

The rain and wind blew one of the Carriage House windows in, ripped shingles off the roof of the office and produced a ton of debris to be dealt with by the DPW guys. The only damage inside was that our computers would not function properly. That is really not unlike any other day, despite all the help from our IT guys! Maybe our computers are starting to turn on us, Matrix style…

Jean made another stir fry dish yesterday, this time with beef and ginger. To make it, chop up red peppers, onions, broccoli, peapods and ginger. Marinate beef in soy sauce and more chopped ginger for 10 mins (she suggests buying beef that is cut for stir fry to save time). Stir fry the meat and veggies together and serve over brown rice. Voila, dinner!! Gail got a delicious-looking muffin from J&J’s (Corner Variety) for lunch and is considering Super Sub for dinner.
