Summer Breeze, Makes Me Feel Fine

It was summer in the middle of a snowy Lynch Park, as camp registration began! We processed about 100 applications and ate munchkins. Bruce manned the phones and held two meetings at the same time this morning, and that, as Gail would say, “is why he makes the big bucks!” We remembered camp registration days of old, when we would huddle in the cold, first floor of the office along with dozens of eager parents, hoping NOT to be shut out of a session. We remembered the time when we had to come in on a Saturday, the time someone accused us of giving her baby pneumonia, and so much more. Let’s just say we were happy to have a quiet, quick registration this morning!!

Despite our texts, Skev was a no show at camp registration, even though he said he would help out. We were blown off, dumped! Too bad because we really wanted to hear about Foxwoods and we thought he might show up with muffins.

Jean came to work yesterday with a chic teal and black outfit picked out by her teenaged daughter, Nicole! Teal sweater, black leggings, tall black boots, awesome. Tim Gunn would have approved.

Josh reported that on Wednesday he saw a fellow city employee chasing a wild turkey through the Cove with what appeared to be a net. Maybe he was hungry?
