Missing Pieces

Found some pictures that I've been meaning to post. Bev Rec office life at its finest. Enjoy!

By chance, Josh found this picture of Tim McAuliffe on the St. John's Prep website!

Finally, Josh has his own phone!

Summer in the City?

Hey hey hey! Is it June, or is it just me? Lynch Park today looks like a scene from July 9, 2011. Global warming isn't right, but in March we don't want it to be wrong! Check out the parking lot - FULL!

Bruce and I had a meeting with Sherry and Bethany at the school department yesterday and we saw this hanging in the hallway...

The Skev Report - As you can see, tutoring has been a success for Professor Skev. Must have been all that exposure in the Bev Rec brochure that propelled him to tutoring superstardom! Skev visited this week and gave updates on his St. Patty's Day celebration (Pickled Onion, yeah), school, Marbles, pretty much everything. He and Stella sang a few songs from the Muppet movie, he checked his camp numbers and then he was off.

Josh declared today waffle day, so we spent the morning cooking up a storm. Sausages, waffles, fruit (so we could at least have the appearance of being healthy) and coffee made us champions. Gail thinks we should deem every day waffle day. Yup.

We did not see the Penalty Box in the parking lot this week, which I think is totally weird.

It’s Her Party & She’ll Eat Cake if She Wants To…

Gail’s birthday was last week, on the Ides of March (aka. the day Caesar was stabbed by his bestie, Brutus). No one stabbed anything at Bev Rec except their delicious cake and ice cream at our birthday celebration. Gail got lots of gifts, Jean cooked muffins for breakfast, Josh decorated the office and we ordered Panera for lunch. Only thing missing was Stella!

Jocelyn Cassola, HRMC, brought in the newest addition to her family, Madeline or Maddie. She’s so cute!! The Cassolas love dogs. Joc has brought Maddie in a few times now and she’s always such a good girl. Even Trixie liked her.

We’ve had visitors over school break season including: Joclyn Belanger, Jocelyn Cassola, Nick Doig, Molly Forman, Margaret Hall, Connor McAuliffe, Tim McAuliffe, Will McAuliffe and Sam Stokes.

Contracts are in and interviews will start soon. We’re making the schedule and trying a new format, so get ready, recruits!

One of the Rose Garden lions was scalped! Anyone know a sculptor or mason who can help us replace the top of his noggin?

Last Month in Pictures

Welcome to March! Josh and Stella have been busy building stuff around here. Check out their latest projects...

Kris Melanson stopped by last week, despite the fact that he had just sprained his ankle... the two BRD Melansons in the same room!

King of the Beach

It’s the last day of camp registration and we are enjoying watching the forms and camp parents roll into the office! We are excited for the lottery tomorrow and hope we can accommodate you all in some way. Best of luck to everyone.

Sad news to report… Bruce’s father, Ken Doig, passed away. Bruce and the rest of the Doig clan are doing alright and the services commemorating his life were very moving. It’s obvious where the Big Guy gets his best qualities. :)

In other news, Molly Forman and Jake Stokes attended the Glen Urquhart Camp Fair and not only represented Bev Rec well, but also brought back excellent suggestions that will make our presentations more interactive and awesome. Seems as though Munchkins aren’t persuasive anymore!

Stella celebrated her 5th birthday at the office a few weeks ago! She enjoyed so many gifts and delicious cupcakes and ice cream and she and I are very thankful to the office staff for going out of their way to make her feel special!

We had a sweet visit from Will McAuliffe and Jocelyn Cassola on Super Bowl Friday. We were enjoying an office-wide lunch from Super Chicken when they arrived. The Cassolas got a new puppy and Joc showed me how to use hash tags. If you get the chance, let’s make #CassolasLoveDogs a trend… that and #BestSummerEver, if you’re talking about Bev Rec camp and park. Thanks for your cooperation.

According to the last poll, most of you think it will snow enough to sled down the hill in 2013. We agree. The Polar Plungers had chilly weather, but not a flake of snow to keep them from getting to the water on Woodbury Beach. If you have pics from this Sunday’s event, please send them to us at bevrec@beverlyma.gov.

We’ll be semi-closed tomorrow for camp registration, but you can bet that if something news-worthy comes up, we’ll blog it ASAP.

Check out our winter/spring course offerings and sign up for something. Many classes are thisclose to meeting their minimums…

All is Quiet on New Year’s Day

Yo, I know it’s been a long time since we rapped at ya, but the Bev Rec machine has been in high gear and we’ve hardly had time to vacuum the Spirit Whisper room, let alone blog. The Winter/Spring brochure has been mailed and is being viewed daily on our website; The Carriage House website is almost finished; Trixie is still learning to do her business outside and Bruce is slowly recovering from being smashed into by a Buick.

We’ll recap December/January for you with this short, bulleted list…

• Holiday party was complete with gifts, French toast and Alex.

• Beverly’s New Year was a success with Hannah Theriault and Kate Norton volunteering to help with costumes at the GAR Hall.

• Bruce was hit by a car on New Year’s Eve and spent more time than anyone ever has lying in the middle of Dane Street. HE’S OKAY!

• Scott Blanchette worked at Bev Rec over the break, freezing his butt off in the Carriage House.

• Holiday staff reunion was in January at CafĂ© Salerno with 20 people in attendance. We ate spaghetti, heard the story of Bruce’s accident and enjoyed soft rock on the radio. Josh, Skev, the McAuliffes, the Stokes, the Lanes, Matt Mc., Margaret H., Kayla D., Dan C. and Ryan L. were among those in attendance. Unfortunately, everyone’s resolution was not to gossip, so no juicy stories except that Pauly D. DJ’d at Sam’s school and she got up close! He looked fresh to death.

• Bruce and I have had many, many meetings this month. Blah.

• I got glasses.

• Trixie barks at everyone and is still being office-broken. She loves long walks on Lynch Beach.

• It is Stella’s 5th birthday next week and we’re going to celebrate!

The Skev Report – Sadly, there has been little seen of Skev McDonald. He was coming in on a regular basis, but always missed everyone but Gail. He was on the reunion planning committee, so I did manage to see him once and speak to him on the cellie. He likes school and the Brain Store. He planned to go to Foxwoods, but I don't think he did. He's friendly with my BFF, Molly, and he and Josh say we are personality twins. I knew there was a reason why I liked her…

We have tons of new and popular classes starting next month, so sign up now and save your space! Camp registration is open and we’re offering a special on Wicked Cool for Kids programs until April! Check out it out on www.bevrec.com and follow us on Twitter and FB.

Last month's poll indicated that you're looking forward to NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCES, SELF HYPNOSIS and LET'S DRAW for spring classes. Good, now sign up! New poll on your weather predictions... check it!
